Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about companion mechanics, metric integrity, privacy, device compatibility, and data rights.

What happens if I miss a day? Does my pet die?

No, absolutely not. Fitness Quest is built on compassionate behavioral psychology, not emotional hostage-taking. We do not use disturbing death animations, guilt-inducing alert copy, or punitive mechanics.

If you miss a day due to illness, travel, or exhaustion, your companion simply enters a peaceful resting state. You have a generous 12-hour grace window the following morning to sync any remaining activity. If a day is missed, your past care is memorialized respectfully in your Memory Garden, and you can resume companion care immediately with a clean slate.

How do steps translate into Care Points?

Our conversion formula is simple and direct: 1 verified step = 1 Care Point (CP).

If your chosen companion is Milo the dog (daily target: 5,000 CP), taking 5,000 walking steps completely meets his daily care goal. If you adopt the Cat (3,000 CP), you reach 100% care at 3,000 steps.

Can I earn care from cycling, swimming, yoga, or weightlifting?

Yes! We recognize that fitness is diverse. Pedometer-only apps penalize anyone who cycles to work, swims, or lifts weights.

Any completed workout logged in Apple Health or Android Health Connect converts at 20 Care Points per active calorie burned. For example, a 150-calorie strength workout earns 3,000 Care Points.

To prevent double-counting, our on-device algorithm automatically excludes overlapping step counts recorded during the exact timeframe of an active workout session.

Does Fitness Quest track my location or sell my data?

Never. We maintain a strict zero-surveillance architecture:

  • We never request GPS or location permissions.
  • We do not include third-party advertising SDKs or data brokers.
  • We only read daily step counts and workout calories via native Apple HealthKit and Android Health Connect APIs.
  • All calculations happen locally on your phone.
Is Fitness Quest free to use?

Yes. You can download Fitness Quest and adopt Milo the dog, the serene Cat, or the mindful Fish completely free, forever. Free users enjoy full health platform synchronization, feeding interactions, and friend circles.

We also offer an optional Fitness Quest+ subscription for users who wish to unlock athletic challenge companions (like the Lion and Deer), exotic sanctuary habitats, and deep habit analytics.

What is the Voluntary Rescue Handover feature?

If you fall ill, take an overseas flight, or face an intense project week, you don't have to stress about losing your pet's care streak.

The Together screen lets you invite a close friend into your "Little Circle." With one tap, you can initiate a temporary, voluntary pet handover. Your friend's daily movement will sustain your companion until you are back on your feet and ready to take them back.

Which smartwatches and fitness bands are supported?

Any wearable device that writes steps and active energy to Apple Health (on iPhone) or Android Health Connect (on Android) works seamlessly with Fitness Quest.

This includes Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, Whoop, Oura Ring, Polar, and Coros.

How do I delete my account and data?

You can delete your account at any moment directly inside the mobile app:

  1. Tap your profile avatar on the Home screen.
  2. Select Privacy Controls.
  3. Tap Delete Account & All Data and confirm.

This immediately purges your profile, companion records, and care ledgers from our servers, and clears your device's local database and security tokens. You may also request deletion via our Contact Form.
